Sarah and Kyle had been on quite a few dates over the past several months and things had gotten fairly serious with them. They had the undeniable connection that just strengthened whatever relationship they were forming. And Sarah was quite thrilled with how things were going. She blabbered to Syd about it often, giving all the details she was sure she'd be comfortable with. And even though this relationship had only been going a few months, they'd stepped through several levels very quickly. She'd surprised him on more than one occasion dressed in lingerie she'd bought while out with Syd.
Though more worrying developments were making themselves clear to Sarah. One, she was a couple weeks late. It hadn't worried her at first, but now...she was worried. She'd never been this late. Two, well, it really all revolved around number one. And all that meant she could very well be pregnant. She thought they'd been pretty safe...of course there'd been that one night...She bit her lip, worrying again over this, has she had for the last couple days.
She finally called Syd, the only person she felt she could really go to..and one she'd been avoiding the last few days when the realization had hit her. She shakily dialed her friend's number, frustrated that she was in tears even before she heard her friend's voice.

Sydney was sitting in the kitchen, finishing up eating when she heard her phone ringing upstairs. Setting her plate in the sink, she ran upstairs and into her phone, picking it up. Hello? She said. Moving, she went to take a seat in her chair and next thing you heard was a loud crash and a thud on the floor. Quickly, Sydney picked up her phone and put it to her ear again. Sorry! Hello? She said as she moved and just sat on her bed, looking at the now disaster she had going on on her bedroom floor.

Sarah listened to the ringing, having a moment of indecision as she began to lose any confidence she'd first had in calling Sydney. Besides, her friend would be able to see that she had called. Before she could think on it any longer and hang up, the ringing stopped and she heard her friend's voice. She drew in a shaky breath, closing her eyes as she heard the crash, wondering what the hell she was doing. But she didn't ask. She let out the deep inhale in a gush that was very nearly a sob.
She swallowed hard, "Syd?" she said quietly. "I've completely screwed up.." she mumbled.

Well...I'm sure you didn't screw up. And if you did, it can't be that bad. She said in a soft tone, pushing the mess on the floor into the corner with her foot as she continued to listen to her friend on the phone. It sounded like she was crying. Sarah...don't cry. What happened? I'm sure we can fix it. Really...just tell me what happened. She said and moved, sitting down on her bed.

Sarah drew a few more deep breaths that shook slightly as she tried to calm down enough so that she'd be able to speak somewhat coherently. She was worried about what Syd would say, what she'd think. Most of all she was worried about the other girls in the pack. She stayed silent for a couple more seconds before managing to speak again, "Just..I...Could you do something for me?" she said in a whisper. She was silent a little longer before pushing onward, "I um...need...tests..." she breathed out, taking a moment to clarify herself, "P-pregnancy..tests.." Her voice shook and trembled and her tears started up again.

Sydney listened to Sarah and almost dropped her phone when she heard the words Pregnancy tests. She couldn't believe it! Her best friend Sarah thought that she was pregnant and with a guy she had known only for a little while. I...I...I"M ON MY WAY! She shouted into the phone, almost tripping over herself as she ran down the hall with the phone still to her ear and stepping outside. Climbing in her car, she drove to the drug store to get a few tests for Sarah. Are you sure about this? Maybe it's a mistake...something else. Maybe your just not feeling well or something.. She said as she stepped inside and looked around.

Sarah didn't like the way Syd shouted into the phone. She snapped hers closed and tossed it to the side, twisting her hands together in her lap while she waited. She wanted all this to just be over..just not be happening at all. She looked up at her friend briefly as she entered the house, shaking her head a little. "I'm late...really late. Like nearly a month. That's a major sign, isn't it?" she said quietly. Not to mention she'd thought maybe she'd gotten a stomach bug recently. She bit her lip and got to her feet, taking the drug store bag from Syd before she disappeared into the bathroom.

Sydney bit her lower lip, not meaning to shout at her. She had just ment to say that she was on her way. When Sarah took the bag from her hands, she just stood there by the front door and played with the hem of her shirt. S-sorry... She said in a soft tone, watching her friend disappear into the bathroom as she continued to just stand by the front door. I don't know...I guess so. I haven't exactly been pregnant before or had a scare like that.... She said in a soft tone, looking down at the ground.

Sarah came out of the bathroom a couple minutes later, leaving one of the sticks on the sink. She shook her head a little at Syd, "Five minutes...th-then I check..smiley face if positive," she whispered. She grabbed onto her friend's hand and pulled her to the couch, which she flopped heavily down on. "I don't know how this could happen...we were so careful. And what if this scares him off?" She didn't stop to consider that if her being a wolf hadn't scared him off, surely a baby wouldn't either.

Sydney followed Sarah as her friend took her hand and then sat down on the end of the couch, pressing herself against the arm rest as she looked down at the ground and listened to her. Well...Being careful doesn't always mean anything. If you didn't use protection and if you weren't on the pill, whether you were careful or not doesn't matter. There is still that huge chance. She said in a soft tone. Not trying to be a downer...just telling the truth. And if this scares him off...you have the pack to help you. That is, if you even are pregnant and all. But I don't think it will scare him off. He might be scared at first and not talk to you for a while but he'll come back once he's had time to think about it. I mean...you guys just met and you showed him you were a werewolf. It's just...a lot to take in though I'm sure he will be okay with it.

"We only messed up once," she mumbled, leaning forward, running her fingers through her hair. It'd just been an intense night, they hadn't been thinking right. And now they were paying for it. She couldn't believe the fates cursed her for one little screw up. She looked to her friend with teary eyes, "I don't think the other girls will be happy at all," she said in something of a whimper. She didn't want to think about what the alpha would say or do.
She drew in a deep breath, wiping at her eyes. She hoped Kyle would handle it well and not ignore her for awhile. She wouldn't handle that well. She got to her feet when the time had passed. She went into the bathroom, gazing down at the stick while a smiley face beamed up at her.

It wasn't a mess up..just an accident. A big one but it will be okay. No matter what happens. She said in a soft tone. Sydney looked over at Sarah, gave her a small smile and then looked back in front of her as they waited for the test to finish. I think that the girls will be angry at first but they won't just leave you. Sarah...we are all we've got. The pack. We are a family and no matter what happens we will always help one another. She said in a soft tone. Thinking then about her and Karen and how they never really got along but things always worked out. They always had one anothers back for things. When she saw Sarah leave, she sighed and just sat there and waited.

Sarah wasn't exactly sure what she'd rather deal with, the girls' anger or them leaving her. She hated confrontation, so maybe abandonment would be better. She'd still have Syd at least, right? She thought about all this as she stared down at the smiley face. She felt weird, a since of calmness coming over her. Now that it was confirmed, it just made itself clear that she was going to have to deal with this. She'd go talk to Kyle soon...and maybe put off talking to the other girls for awhile. Or have Syd tell them. She'd be fine just avoiding them for awhile.
She slowly exited the bathroom, joining Syd once again the couch. "So..it's positive..." she said quietly. She forced on a smile, looking at Syd, "Are you ready to be Auntie Syd?" she managed to joke.

Sydney looked at sarah when she returned and gave a small smile. So it was positive. That ment she, her best friend in the world, was pregnant and Sydney didn't know what to say or do. So she just smiled a little at her friend and leaned back against the couch. Rolling her eyes at the joke about her being auntie Syd. Yeah...not entirely sure I'm the one you want watching your kid.. She said in a soft tone. They were cute and fun to play with but she didn't know how to take care of them or do anything like that.

Sarah shook her head, making a face at her friend. "And you think it's acceptable for me to be watching my own baby?" she said quietly. She didn't believe adoption could possibly be an option. If the baby was like her and the rest of the pack, she didn't want him or her to grow up and have these changes without someone there that knew what was going on. It would be cruel. She bit her lip, sitting beside her friend, curling up on the couch, resting her head on Syd's shoulder. "How should I tell Kyle?" she asked her quietly. "And..can we try to hide this from the other girls...for awhile at least?" she asked her. It'd be difficult, while their minds connected in wolf form, though.
