Rosie knew that things had been hard lately, not only for her but for her sister as well. Losing your parents is never easy and when your younger sister doesn't still quite understand it all, it just makes it even harder. Rosie knew she had been harder on her sister that she should have lately and she was so sorry for that. She was just hurting. Though, that isn't a good reason to always yell at her. Well, in order to say sorry to her sister, she had invited some of her friends from school and most of her friends from her dance class over for a sleep over.
Now, this wasn't something Rosie would normally do but she knew that Lissy didn't see her friends much lately and it would be kind of fun. She had cleared the coffee table out of the living room and pushed the couch and chairs back so the girls could lay out their sleeping bags. Pizza had been ordered and movies rented for them. Not only that, Rosie had gone and gotten some ice cream and a few other munchies for the girls to eat. Smiling when she finally finished everything, Rosie looked at the time. The girls would be arriving soon. Heading upstairs to her sisters room, she knocked on the door and stepped inside. Lissy, I have a little something for you. She said in a soft tone.

Lissy had been upstairs, playing with her toys, enjoying herself while she waited for Rosie to call her down for dinner. She was pretty quiet again, though she tried not to get into anymore trouble with her sister. She hadn't gotten into her things or broken anything. The other day she'd broken one of their best glasses in one of her temper tantrums. That hadn't been a good moment for either sister, of course. But she'd behaved herself the past couple days.
She looked up from her animal toys when her sister opened her door and spoke. She blinked, "Okay..." she said hesitantly, wondering what it could be. She tilted her head a little, slowly getting to her feet, looking at her questioningly. "Is dinner ready?" she asked her after a moment, rather hungry.

Rosie looked at her sister and shook her head when she asked if dinner was ready. No. Well, it should be here in an hour but that's not it. she said as she stepped into the room a little and looked down at her sister. I know things have been hard for you lately and that you haven't been able to do much of what you used to like, hang with your friends and ballet class and all So...I invited a few of your friends over for a sleep over tonight. She said in a soft tone.
She knew that her sister would like that. At least she hoped so. I ordered some pizza. Ice cream and snacks are in the kitchen and your friends should be here in twenty minutes so you should clean your room quick. Rosie said and just smiled. her hands resting in the pockets of her jeans as she stood in the middle of the room.

Lissy tilted her head, rather frustrated that the dinner would be ready for another hour. She was starving. But all that was forgotten when Rosie spoke. She grinned up at her sister, "Really? she said quietly, but didn't wait for any answer before she squealed and leapt at her. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, hugging her. "Thank you, Rosie!"
She'd never thought her sister would do something like this for her. It thrilled her of course, the idea of having her friends over. And it was a sleep over! She hadn't had one of those for quite some time now. She continued to hold onto her sister tightly for a moment longer before she pulled away from her, quickly picking up her toys and such around her room.

Rosie smiled and stumbled a little, then hugged her sister back as she let out a small laugh. Your welcome. She said in a soft tone and then watched her sister rush around and clean up her room. I have your sleeping bag downstairs. You just have to grab a pillow and a stuffed animal or whatever you want to sleep with okay? She said and then turned her head when she heard the doorbell. Smiling, she headed downstairs and opened the door.
It was one of Lissy's friends. Helping the girl with her pillow, she gave the number to the house to the mother and took the paper with all of the girls information on it in case something were to happen. Closing the door, she told the girl that Lissy would be down in a moment and then went and put the paper up on the fridge. Lissy, Anna is here! She called up the stairs and then stepped into the living room.

Lissy nodded to her sister, putting some stuff in her closet once her sister had left, not wanting to clean t up properly. She grabbed her pillow off her bed and a worn out stuffed bunny. She wasn't sure if Thimble would much enjoy sleeping with her on the sleeping bag, so Mr. Fluff was her other option. She went downstairs quickly with the stuffed bunny and her pillow, picking up the pace when her sister said Anna was there.
She bounced down the rest of the stairs, greeting Anna enthusiastically as she dropped her stuff in the middle of the living room floor. They plopped down on the ground and immediately began chattering about anything and everything. She jumped to her feet though when the doorbell rang again. She grinned and rushed to the door before Rosie could get there, yanking it open, beaming at Natalie, a girl from her dance class.

Rosie watched her sister for a moment and then walked into the kitchen to get some of the snacks out for the girls. It was then that she heard the doorbell ring. Looking in the direction of the front hall and then back down at the bowl in front of her, she set it down and went to open it but was beat by her sister. Letting out a small laugh, she watched her run back into the room with another one of her friends and exchanged information and went back into the kitchen.
It was then that she heard the doorbell ring again and she went and asnwered it. This time, it was three people. Rosie smiled and talked with the parents as all the girls went into the living room. It wasn't long before all of her sisters friends were over and Rosie was bringing the snacks into the living room and setting them on one of the little tables she had set up. Okay girls, there are snacks and what not over on the table. Juice is in the kitchen and pizza will be here in a few minutes. You guys can talk and everything until after dinner and then I'll put a movie in. She said and then went into the kitchen quick, grabbing her soda and the phone and then sat down.

Lissy was in one of the best moods she'd been in in weeks. She was happy to see all her friends, even more so since it was at her house. And it was a sleep over. She was pleased once all her friends arrived and they spoke excitedly with each other about the school year that would be starting up soon and about dance. Their dolls and other toys were among the major subjects. Even boys were included, but they were still mostly in the cooties stage.
She looked at her sister when she came in, and she beamed at her. "Thank you, Rosie," she said happily. She hopped up and went to the snacks with her friends. They munched on the snacks until the doorbell rang again. They all chorused loudly, as one. "PIZZA!" Lissy ran to the door and pulled it open, looking up at the pizza man, taking the pizza boxes in her arms. "My sister will pay you," she told him with a firm nod, looking to Rosie.

Rosie looked at her sister and nodded her head a little. Your welcome. She said in a soft tone. Opening her book, Rosie read as she listened to the girls talk, soon lifting her head when she heard the doorbell ring. Standing, she let out a small laugh as she listened to her sister and her friends and then looked up at the pizza man. Here you go. She said as she paid him and then closed the door, helping her sister with the boxes.
Everyone line up and I'll help you all get your pizza and something to drink. Then go and take a seat at the kitchen table. Rosie said as she set the boxes down on the counter and grabbed the paper plates and napkins. Cups all sat out with each of the girls names on them. Smiling, she helped the girls get their pizza and then took a slice for herself and sat down at the kitchen counter and ate.

Lissy let her friends go before her, remembering her manners of course. She smiled happily, getting her pizza and drink before joining her friends at the table. They ate and continued their happy chatter when boys came up again and they all zeroed in on Rosie, staring at her for a while before looking to Lissy. They all talked quietly a moment before looking back to her sister.
She shook her head at them before focusing on Rosie, smiling at her. "Rosie? Do you like boys? Do you have a boyfriend?" she asked her. She didn't know if her sister had a boyfriend, she didn't really pay any attention, especially since she didn't bring any guys home with her. Or at least, she was in bed if she ever did.

Rosie almost choked on her pizza when she heard her sister's question. She should have seen that one coming from her sister. Swallowing, she turned her head after taking a dink and then looked over at her sister and her friends. Yes, I like boys and no I don't have a boyfriend. She said, answering both questions at once. Rosie really hoped that that was the end of it but for some reason, she felt like it wasn't.
Shaking the thought from her head, she went and finished her pizza and then threw her plate into the garbage. Come on and eat so I can put the movie in for you guys. She said, giving a small smile as she pushed her hair from her face.

Lissy frowned a little as she listened to her sister before turning to the girls and they began chattering again, eating what they could of pizza, which wasn't much. They threw away their trash and all tramped into the living room to have the movie started. Lissy grabbed a few movies so they could decide what to watch. They finally decided on a Disney movie and she quickly handed it over to her sister before sitting down with her sleeping bag.
Lissy watched her sister, "Are you going to get a boyfriend soon?" she asked her, smiling a little. "And then get married? You should meet your prince like in Disney," she added quickly, all the girls squealing approval at that.

Rosie followed the girls as they finished cleaned up and went into the living room. When they picked a movie, Rosie took the dvd and placed it into the player. Turning on the t.v. she got the movie started, listening as the girls began to talk again. Her head turning towards her sister as she was asked more questions. I dunno. I might get a boyfriend soon. It will happen when it happens. She said in a soft tone. Pressing play on the movie, she listened to them and just gave a small smile. It would be nice to meet her prince charming and get married but, she had a feeling that it wouldn't be any time soon. Shaking the thought from her head, Rosie walked over and turned the lights off.
Shh...movie is starting now. I'll get the ice cream ready and bring it in here for you guys. She said and once again disappeared into the kitchen. Rosie got all of the toppings out for the girls and pulled out bowls. Grabbing the ice cream, she scooped one big scoop into each bowl and then carried them into the living room on a tray. Placing the tray on a table that was covered in newspaper so if there was a mess, all she had to do was take the paper off. Going back, Rosie grabbed all of the toppings and then set them down, leaning back in her chair.

Lissy decided she really wanted her sister to meet her prince. She thought maybe she could find a guy for her. She smiled at the idea, glancing toward her sister, watching her for awhile before focusing on the movie. All her friends quieted for the movie, quickly thanking Rosie when she brought the ice cream. They surrounded the coffee table and got their ice cream, many of them using all the toppings.
They settled down again, Lissy scooting over so she was closer to her sister. She leaned her head on her knee while she watched the movie.

For a while, Rosie sat there and watched the girls as they all ate their ice cream and then turned her gaze towards the movie. For a while, she watched it and then looked down at the book in her hands and began to read. Pulling a blanket over her legs, Rosie fixed the pillow behind her back and continued to read her book. Enjoying herself. Every once in a while looking up and over at the girls, then back down at her book.
